Swirling accents. Undulating surfaces. Symbols of structural intimacy.

Material Poetics

Compositions in silver and gold engage with the poetics of space. Material becomes a mode of enquiry: shaped, sculpted, softened.

Rooted in the studio’s cross-disciplinary origins, the collection draws from Gaston Bachelard’s writing on spatial imagination—bringing together emotional presence and dreamlike refinement into forms that can be worn: artefacts of design, vessels of structural intimacy.

Introducing the first silhouettes in an evolving collection.

The Florentine Dress, on a posed mannequin situated in The National Museum of Scotland. The background is darkened to black, with the piece on its plinth, the complete focus.
Close-up detail of the front middle section of The Florentine Dress. Digitally designed and embroidered white lace depicts monster faces, with crystals attached to their mouths with door-knocker style embellishments. The creation is seamless and the angles of the front embroidered section attach to larger eye style cuts and layers, crafted in white and silver viscose and silk. The dress is seamless - connected with sculpted silver links creating a highly detailed and decorative presence.

Sculptural Genesis

A Material Foundation

A landmark in the evolution of Lorn Jean, The Florentine Dress merges jewellery and garment into a singular sculptural form. Composed with thousands of hand-sculpted silver links, it shaped the studio’s material philosophy—where structure, balance, and imagination are resolved through process. Now exhibited at the National Museum of Scotland, it remains a defining expression of vision and form.

Made in the UK

Precision in Every Detail

Designed & modelled in-house. Cast in the UK. Hand-finished to a superior polish. Each piece is shaped through an explorative design process and crafted in responsibly sourced recycled precious metals, hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office.

The Rila Coat and mask from Lorn Jean's "Diadem" collection, styled on a model in a portrait style with the model looking down, their face covered by a lattice jewellery piece. The image is cropped to show only the left side of the model, in black and white, creating a powerful depiction. The shoulder detail of the coat is fully constructed with integrated jewellery and the collar is connected with a line of sculpted silver links.

Studio Works Across Mediums

Forms in Process

Across garment, sculpture, and jewellery, each creation is part of an evolving study in form. Designed in small series, shaped through research, and refined by hand—the approach remains constant: slow, deliberate and considered in every detail.
